Our Actions in Favor of Sports

Convinced that sports serve as a powerful lever for both health and personal empowerment, the SMB-Winning Foundation has, for many years, been actively involved in numerous ambitious sports initiatives and events. These actions aim to promote well-being, strengthen community cohesion, and encourage the growth and development of Guinean youth through sports participation.

Recent actions

“Foot for Change” Program: Combining Sports, Education, and Equality

Launched in January 2019, Foot for Change is an innovative program that promotes both sporting and academic excellence among young girls in Guinea. It aims to provide passionate young female footballers with dual-quality training, combining athletic practice with educational support, while fostering personal development and socio-professional integration.

The program’s goal is clear: to offer participants holistic growth, blending sporting performance, academic success, and personal development.

By 2025, more than 300 girls aged 6 to 20 benefit from the program in Conakry and several other cities across the country. The SMB-Winning Foundation covers all aspects of their support, including coaching, training, medical follow-up, equipment, and school fees, with an annual budget exceeding USD 180,000.

Ten young players from the program have already been scouted by the Guinean Football Federation and integrated into national women’s teams.

The program also includes literacy, leadership, and gender equality awareness modules to strengthen the participants’ confidence and autonomy.

The SMB-Winning Consortium Tournament: Sports and Community Cohesion

Every year, the SMB-Winning Foundation supports the Consortium Tournament, which has become a major sporting event for the youth of Boké and surrounding communities.

This amateur tournament, organized in partnership with UMS, brings together sixteen teams from local communities and promotes dialogue, camaraderie, and team spirit.

The 2025 edition welcomed hundreds of young players and spectators in a festive and friendly atmosphere. The Boké stadium benefited from significant upgrades and modern equipment — including jerseys, balls, benches, and nets — provided by the Consortium.

The Foundation ensures that this tournament remains a space for youth expression and development while strengthening cohesion between villages, neighborhoods, and collaborators. This initiative reflects the Foundation’s commitment to placing sports at the heart of social and community life in the Boké region.

Partnership with TotalEnergies: Sports, Health, and Team Spirit

The SMB-Winning Foundation has been a long-standing partner of the TotalEnergies Guinea Half Marathon, one of the country’s most popular sporting events.

Each year, hundreds of SMB-Winning Consortium employees participate, embodying the values of self-improvement, teamwork, and solidarity.

This engagement helps promote a culture of well-being, discipline, and respect through sports.

Today, the Half Marathon stands as a strong symbol of the SMB-Winning spirit: collective effort, perseverance, and sharing.

Conakry Solidaire

The SMB-Winning Foundation supported Conakry Solidaire 2024, an event organized in partnership with Ventilo Sports and the Union for the Well-being of People with Albinism in Guinea (UBEPAG), under the patronage of the French Embassy and with the support of the Republic of Guinea.

Through this engagement, the Foundation pursues several objectives:

  • Supporting people with albinism: contributing to their well-being, education, and social inclusion.

  • Encouraging Guinean youth: promoting solidarity, hope, and active participation of young people in socially impactful initiatives.

  • Strengthening cohesion through sports and culture: bringing communities together around values of respect, sharing, and mutual support.

A Sustainable Vision for Sports

Beyond events and programs, the SMB-Winning Foundation’s commitment reflects a sustainable and inclusive vision of sports.

The goal is to make sports a genuine driver of human and social development by:

  • Promoting public health through regular physical activity.

  • Encouraging inclusion and equal access, particularly for young girls.

  • Supporting the emergence of Guinean talent, especially in rural areas.

  • Strengthening community cohesion through local events and initiatives.

Through these actions, the SMB-Winning Foundation affirms its belief that sports, when guided by values and solidarity, serve as a powerful engine of progress for both individuals and communities.
